The 10,000 Steps program uses a pedometer to count steps, which is a useful,
motivational tool to help you monitor your daily activity level. By providing
you with instant feedback, the use of your pedometer may help you set some
measurable personal goals toward becoming more physically active. We hope that

improve your health and quality of life.
The latest research indicates that 10,000 steps each day is equivalent to 30
minutes of daily physical activity or approximately five miles – the level
recommended by the United States Surgeon General.
According to the United States Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity
and Health, studies show heart disease is almost twice as likely to develop
in inactive people than in those who are more active.
