Custer Regional Senior Care is a licensed 76-bed skilled nursing facility
that includes a 16-bed secure Alzheimer's wing. Custer Regional Senior Care
is known for outstanding nursing care, service and expertise with customized
care and living programs. At Custer Regional Senior Care our management team
is innovative and forward looking in order to achieve the highest standards
for our patients. There is a constant review of the way we do things to ensure
we continue to be pre-eminent in caring for our residents.
None of this would be possible without our team of health care personnel. A
major part of management time is spent ensuring that they are supported in
their duty of care to the patient. We have a comprehensive training program
that is monitored and documented for individual staff. The many daily
activities carried out by our staff may not be immediately visible. But what
very often is noticed is the overall change when a family member comes to
visit and tells us "this is the first time my mother has spoken to me for
two years" or " my father smiled at me today!" It is something our nursing
team takes pride in.
Custer Regional Senior Care has four doctors that make rounds on a weekly basis and
work very closely with the nursing staff. Within our facility we have the
resources of qualified medical professionals offering their services in
physical, occupational and speech therapy. In addition we coordinate care
services seamlessly as needed with Custer Regional Hospital, just a few
steps away, and the Wedgwood Regional Senior Care facility.
Our residents enjoy nutritious meals each day prepared under the supervision
of our registered dietician. With a full-time activities staff there is
always something to take part in- from playing cards, shopping trips, to
movie night or joining the gardening club.

Residents are encouraged to enhance their space with personal touches.
All rooms are handicap accessible. A recent comprehensive renovation project
has resulted in shiny, clean hallways quieted by brand new carpeting. New moldings,
handrails, wallpaper and paint accent beautifully our new collection of
artwork that can be viewed in community areas. And Custer Regional Senior Care
residents and their guests will enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds
with the natural views of the Black Hills.
