Medicare Coverage

The following criteria must be met to qualify for Medicare coverage. The resident must have:

• Medicare Part A Benefit
• Available benefit days to use
• 3 consecutive hospital inpatient days with the past 30 days
• Skilled nursing and/or skilled rehab services needed daily
• Services ordered by a physician that meet qualifying Medicare Criteria

Medicare pays only as long as the resident meets the qualifying Medicare criteria of skilled nursing or rehab care. If an individual meets Medicare Skilled Nursing and/or Rehabilitation criteria, Medicare Part A will pay: Days 1-20 – 100%; Days 21-100 – Medicare will pay charges over an amount established annually by Medicare if an individual continues to meet skilled nursing or rehabilitation criteria. Supplemental insurance may cover the remainder of the cost.
