Emergency Services

Custer Regional Hospital (CRH) provides Emergency Services 24 hours a day. Immediate local care for emergency patients is critical. At CRH, we care for nearly 3,100 patients each year in our modern emergency facilities. Our Emergency Services respond rapidly, appropriately and efficiently to healthcare emergencies.

The Staff

Dedicated and specially-trained nurses along with an experienced, on-call health care provider are the staff of the emergency department. The Custer County Volunteer Ambulance Service provides ambulance services. This highly trained staff of emergency medical technicians or EMTs is prepared to deal with all emergency situations.

The Process

At CRH, the continuum of care begins in the field with the EMTs of the Custer County Ambulance Service. Once the patient arrives in the Emergency Department, a nurse triages the patients. Emergencies that cannot be handled at CRH are stabilized and transferred to Rapid City Regional Hospital. Transfers may occur for severe fractures, complicated deliveries, and other conditions that require major surgical intervention.

Custer Regional Hospital is well prepared for the emergencies in our lives... 24 hours a day.

The 30-minute promise

CRH is committed to delivering quick, efficient, quality care for the community it serves. That is why we promise all patients will be seen within 30 minutes of their arrival.
